Compassionate Integrity Training (CIT)

Compassionate Integrity Training (CIT) is a multi-part training program that cultivates basic human values as skills for the purpose of increasing individual, social and environmental flourishing. By covering a range of skills from self-regulation and self-compassion to compassion for others and engaging with systems, CIT aims towards increasing our wellbeing: the ability to live one’s life in accordance with one’s values with a recognition of common humanity, our basic orientation to kindness, and reciprocity. CIT is based on cutting-edge developments in the fields of neuroscience, psychology, trauma-informed care, peace and conflict studies, and contemplative science. Compassionate integrity believes that maintaining and increasing consistency with one’s values is most beneficial when they are values that promote one’s own wellbeing as well as that of others. One’s values are arrived at by investigating and examining things for oneself, using common sense, common experience, and science. 

Compassionate integrity is, therefore, arrived at through the accumulation of knowledge, greater understanding and a strong set of concrete skills. Compassionate integrity guards against actions that compromise the wellbeing of oneself and others instead, focusing on cultivating it in one’s life and in one’s community for individual and collective flourishing.

Although CIT deals with values and concepts like compassion and integrity, it is based on a secular approach to universal ethics that are drawn from on common sense, common experience, and science, rather than a particular culture or religion.

Modes of Learning

There are 3 ways in which you can take this course:

  1. Online at your own pace, free of charge: You can choose how many skills you want to take and when you want to take them. The online version is for Skill 1: Calming the mind and the body from Series 1, Series 1: self-cultivation or the entire 3 Series (Self-Cultivation, Relating to Others, Engaging in systems) encompassing 10 skills. To start the training please register below.  

  2. Online with a CIT certified facilitator. In addition to your own learning, we can come to your support when you have additional questions, comments or you want to do contemplative practices guided by us. However, as our facilitators are continuously training and offer their energy and support, we can support you for 3h, 6h, 9h or more for which there is a consulting fee.  To start the training please register below. 

  3. Face-to-Face training. Do the training live, face-to-face facilitated by our team of certified facilitators and benefit from our live knowledge and energy. If you want to know more about it, please register below.

Sorina Petrescu is a Personal Development Counsellor, Certified CIT facilitator and Human Synergistics Trainer, trained as well in dance-therapy. After working for the European Parliament in Brussels, EY Romania and an entrepreneurial game-based learning company, she decided to found TMoves, where she is developing 10 life skills through experiential artartistic and movement programmes. She is a mentor for students and has trained educators, teachers, professors, therapists, and young professionals in Romania mostly focusing on team chemistry and developing constructive thinking and behavioral styles that are proven to be related to job performance, quality of interpersonal relationships, and problem-solving effectiveness.

Ben is a social entrepreneur, B Leader and certified CIT facilitator. He is the Founder of the Kindness School Foundation (link), a social enterprise working with over 500 primary schools around the world on making social emotional learning and mental wellbeing a part of the curriculum.
